Kishu Ume (Japanese Plum) wine has a fruity nose of rose petals and peaches; on the palate it is refreshing with a delicate sweet taste of plums. It is best served chilled around 50° to 55°F.
Pairs well with pork, fish, spicy dishes, seafood, sushi, vegetarian or a wide variety of cuisine.
Nanko Ume (Japanese Plums)
the wakayama prefecture is the premium location of japan for growing nanko-ume or japanese plums of the highest quality. the ume or plums are typically harvested in mid-may to early june and are then soaked in sugar for two months. after the two months the plums are pressed and the juice is fermented into wine. approximately 22 plums are used to produce one bottle of wine.
