Zeal
New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs are about as tame as the mountainous backbone of this two-island country: not very. They are wildly rich and exotically flavored, turning anyone who tastes one into a raving Sauvignon Blanc fan. Zeal, in this way, is a true New Zealander.
Characteristics With a bright, straw-yellow hue, offering fresh, clean tropical fruit aromas. Classic Sauvignon Blanc gooseberry flavor, with the unique addition of New Zealand’s signature tropical fruit flavors of guava and passionfruit that are brought into focus with this wine’s vibrant, racy acidity.
Food Pairings This is an excellent food wine especially well-matched to light appetizers and meals, including salads, scallops, and to take the heat off spicy cuisine.
Wine Growing Conditions Marlborough is uniquely situated on the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island nestled on a strait between the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. It is an area idyllically suited to Sauvignon Blanc, with an array of gravel, silt, and clay loam soils coupled with sunny days and cool nights that keep acidity levels high. Harvested and cool fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel to retain the aromatic fruit characters, and bottled young to preserve the fresh, vibrant style.
