Makulu Characteristics
Pinotage Rose: This wine has vibrant pink hues. This full bodied Pinotage Rosé is loaded with fresh berries. Raspberries on the nose are carried through by a fresh, crisp palate and long, lingering finish.
Iswithi Pinotage: This semi sweet wine is deep purple in color with a harmonic bouquet of red berries, ripe bananas and hints of spicy vanilla.
Chardonnay: This wine is light straw in color. It displays hints of lime, citrus & honey on the nose. On the palate are flavors of juicy green apple and crisp acidity.
Shiraz: This wine possesses intense spicy blackberry, cassis, liquorice and dark chocolate on the nose. This wine offers a broad and structured mid palate with fruit following through to a luscious finish with hints of oak and velvety soft tannins.
Moscato: This tongue tingling treat is seductively sweet with big aromas of peaches, pears, and apricots. The light effervescents wake up your taste buds and lead into a crisp flavorful finish.

Wine Growing Conditions
Pinotage Rose: The grapes were hand harvested in insure consistent quality. The grapes then underwent a 3 hour cold soak. Once we had gained the right amount of color extraction from the skins, the juice was then pulled away from the skins and the standard white wine fermentation process was used.
Iswithi Pinotage: The grapes were hand harvested in insure consistent quality. The winemaker aimed to achieve an approachable easy drinking wine that displayed European elegance and finesse with a New World approach. This wine showcases a perfect balance of fruit and acidity.
Chardonnay: As the vintage progressed, the Chardonnay was picked at varied stages of ripeness to ensure a more balanced wine. The goal for the 2006 vintage was to make a softer, more fruit forward chardonnay.
Shiraz: The grapes were hand harvested in insure consistent quality.
Pinotage: Pinotage is a uniquely South African grape varietal that came into being in 1925 through the crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut, then locally known as Hermitage. International recognition for Pinotage came through the dedicated efforts of a few South African winemakers who were committed to produce a wine that could hold its own against any varietal from any wine-growing region of the world.
