Gionelli Asti
Italy is the largest, most varied producer of sparkling wines. And Gionelli Asti demonstrates that heritage.
Asti Characteristics From Moscato grapes, Gionelli Asti spumante, or sparkling, wine is full of fresh fruit flavors with a sweet finish typical of the wines of this famed region. It pairs best with fruits, desserts, or as an aperitif or dessert on its own.
Piedmont Wine Growing Conditions
The wine growers of Asti pride themselves on pairing the land with the grapes most suited to each other, and Piedmont’s cooler northern climate is perfect for growing Moscato. As a Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) wine, it is exemplary of the land and soil of Piedmont.
Gionelli Lambrusco
A line of traditional wines from the Lambrusco grape native to Northeastern Italy, known for its fruity taste and light, frizzante (fizzy) character.
Lambrusco Characteristics Lambrusco wines are refreshing, light, and lively, like an exploding mouthful of fresh fruit. This province is home to the towns of Parma and Bologna, so Lambruscos are enjoyed especially with parmesan and other hard, bold cheeses as well as hearty pasta dishes.
Emilia-Romagna Wine Growing Conditions The terroir most suited for the Lambrusco grape is the province of Emilia-Romagna nestled between the provinces of Veneto and Tuscany in north central Italy. While the topography of this province most resembles that of Veneto to its north, Lambrusco wines are very different than the bold reds grown in that region. Like all of the Gionelli family of wines, Gionelli Lambrusco is typical of the Emilia-Romagna region, or Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT).
Gionelli Marsala Cooking is a staple of Italy, and it follows, with the Gionelli family. Gionelli Marsalas come from Sicily where the food is spicy and robust. These are the cooking wines used in Gionelli family favorites that have been handed down generation to generation.
Like Port (Portugal) and Madeira (Spain), Italian Marsala is a fortified, high alcohol (17%) red wine. Gionelli Marsalas are aged one year in oak and bear a Denominazione Origine Controllata (DOC) quality rating. Offered in both sweet and dry styles, Gionelli Marsalas are ready for any family kitchen. |
