Famenco
Famenco embodies the spirit of the La Mancha region much like Don Quixote, "The Man From La Mancha," did when he adventured through the area of Castile-La Mancha, or New Castile, in central Spain in the 16th century.  Famenco was inspired by the famous flamenco dance that surely Don Quixote, himself, would have enjoyed in his time.  Just as he would enjoy the robust flavor of Famenco today.

Characteristics
Bright red with aromas of red fruit and toasted marshmallows, and flavors of juicy cherries, raspberries and blackberries, a concentration of black pepper, and a lightly spiced, vanilla finish.

Food Pairings
Sophisticated enough for fine tapas and meals to meeting the tastes of informal barbeque gatherings.  Best matched with red meat, game, and medium-to -ull bodied cheeses.

Wine Growing Conditions
Today, La Mancha is one of the hottest and increasingly prestigious Spanish grape growing regions to explore.  This region of broad, dry highlands in Spain’s heartland showcases its landmark windmills along the horizon of vast fields of vines. This is the largest wine region in Spain, and the world, accounting for half of Spain’s grape harvest.

D.O. La Mancha is an area specially known for producing black, Cencibel, or Tempranillo, Spain’s most indigenously popular grape. Here, 30-year-old vines grown in gravel, limestone, and red clay soils impart a fragrant, soft, and earthy character to Famenco.  Using the best of modern wine-making technology and technique, Famenco is stainless steel fermented for a clean, fruity finish.
