Wine Growing Conditions
The grapes are harvested by hand. In the cellar the wine is aged for 12 months in small barrique before achieving the final blend. Then, it rests for an additional year in the bottle.
Out of respect for the land and vines, all farming is done through biodynamic farming. Biodynamic Farming is a method of organic farming that treats farms as individual organisms. It emphasizes a balance and interrelationship of the soil and plants through a self-nourishing system.
About Priorat
Priorat is an ancient, isolated wine region Southwest of Barcelona, west of Tarragona in Catalonia. Priorat is known for its intensely hot days and very cool nights. The vineyards are scattered over valleys, along the river, and up slopes of more than 3,000 feet in elevation. The unforgiving soil is dry and infertile. The grapes of Priorat are almost exclusively reds from Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha, Carignan and Syrah. Priorat produces some of Spain`s most sought after wine and is considered to be Spain`s elite wine region.
