Casa di Rocco
Casa di Rocco brings the traditional tastes of Italy in wines reflecting Italy’s 3000-year-old winemaking tradition.
Characteristics
Moscato d`Asti: Flavors of ripe peaches and golden apples, slightly nutty.
Pinot Grigio: A bright, clean nose and palate of crisp citrus flavors, and a clean, elegant finish.
Chianti: Fruity and earthy on the nose, with flavors of plum and black cherry.
Chianti Riserva: Nose and palate of dark fruit, layered with blackberries and toasty oak from oak aging.
Food Pairings
Moscato d`Asti: Serve as a starter or with dessert.
Pinot Grigio: Makes a terrific aperitif on its own, or as a match for salads, fruits, white fish and calamari, as well as light pastas like aglio e olio (garlic and oil). Its fresh palate is a deliciously interesting contrast to aged cheeses.
Chianti: Fruit balanced with just the right amount of acid to complement the tomato dishes synonymous with Italy. Casa di Rocco is a stylish match with most Italian cuisine, including classic red sauced pastas as well as northern Italian dishes featuring its revered pork and Parma ham. It’s also a great casual dining wine for Mediterranean salads and pizza.
Chianti Classico Riserva: Oak-aging brings a richness to stand up to most meats and heavier pasta dishes. It nicely complements aged hard Italian cheeses as well as gorgonzola.
Wine Growing Conditions
Venezie’s luscious sun reaches vineyards nestled between the Alps to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the east. The ripening sun is managed by both mountain and sea air, creating the dramatic variations in day and night temperatures that make grapes sparkle. Grapes are handpicked off of 10-15 year old vines to create this clean, 100% Pinot Grigio from Casa di Rocco.
Southwest of Venezie, the Tuscan sun shines on south-facing slopes of this hilly, picturesque landscape that rarely sees flat terrain. For Casa di Rocco Chianti, 15-20 year old vines carrying Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes are hand harvested before aging in stainless steel to produce the crisp finish that serves to cleanse and ready the palate for the next bites of acid-rich Italian tomato dishes.
The Chianti Classico Riserva is aged 24 months in Slavonian casks to add a tannic touch to balance the high acid of the Sangiovese grape. Uniquely 100% Sangiovese, grapes are grown on vines as old as 30 years for a rich, rarified taste of the Tuscan heartland.
Casa Di Rocci Moscato d`Asti is made from hand picked fruit from some of the best hillside vineyards in all of the prestigious Asti region in Piedmont.
